Liverpool have been dealt a blow with star forward Raheem Sterling refusing to discuss a new contract – until the end of the season.
Sterling, who has enjoyed a superb campaign so far at Anfield, has attracted interest from Chelsea and Real Madrid.
Both clubs are thought to be lining up offers this summer, and while Liverpool have tried to get him to sign a contract extension before then, Sterling has now shelved talks over a new deal.
The Mirror says he won’t consider holding talks until this summer, but with his stock continuing to rise, it should be seen as a real blow for Liverpool.
Sterling is currently on £35,000-a-week and reportedly turned down a new £100,000-a-week extension last month.
