John Terry will put pen to paper on a new one-year contract at Chelsea, Blues boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed.
The Portuguese tactician revealed on Friday that the Chelsea defender will sign his new deal at the end of the season, with all parties pleased with the extension.
‘John accepted that we go year-after-year, with a smile. He accepted the challenge and he won it and he is winning the challenge and the right to get one more year,’ Mourinho said.
‘That is what the club wants, that’s what John wants and that is going to happen.’
The news of Terry’s renewal at Stamford Bridge comes just a day after the 34-year-old admitted he was keen to open talks with the club, but understood that the west London outfit needed to concentrate on extending other players’ deals first.
