Chelsea’ Petr Cech Targeted By Arsenal in £7million Deal
Arsenal are being linked with a £7million swoop for Petr Cech.
The Chelsea shot-stopper has slipped behind Thibaut Courtois in the Stamford Bridge pecking order and is likely to be seeking first-team opportunities elsewhere.
And The Sun report that the Gunners are ready to swoop for the 32-year-old when Jose Mourinho gives the green light for his departure.
Arsene Wenger is an admirer of Cech and could use his experience to shore up a defence that has seen the Gunners lose more points from winning positions than any other Premier League side this season.
But with two senior goalkeepers already on the books at the Emirates, Wenger may decide to use the £20million he has to spend this January on outfield players.
Laurent Koscielny has been struggling with an Achilles injury this season and is likely to need cover as he continues his recovery.
