Arsenal Set to Sign New Viera, Krystian Bielik From Legia Warsaw

While the news that Arsene Wenger is targeting a defensive midfielder will be music to Arsenal fans’ ears, that sense of relief may be diminished when they find out it’s a 16-year-old who’s only played 153 minutes of senior football to date.

Nevertheless, Legia Warsaw’s Krystian Bielik has so attracted the Gunners’ interest that they have sent scouts to monitor his progress, according to Polish news outlet TVP Sport.

The youngster has also drawn comparisons with Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira in his native Poland, and could follow in Wojcech Szczesny’s footsteps by leaving Warsaw for North London at such an early age.

Arsenal are thought to be prepared to pay up to £2 million for Bielik’s services, and with the likes of Mikel Arterta and Mathieu Flamini entering the twilight of their careers, the young Pole could be their long-term successor.
